On August 17th-19th I was cordially invited by ‘Project Cobalt‘ to act as an ambassador, reporting from a female perspective on the Men’s 2015 Fashion Trade Shows of Liberty Fairs, Capsule and Agenda that took place in Las Vegas at the The Venetian Palazzo’s Sands Expo.
To be honest I was a bit taken a back and blown away by the overload and intensity of creativity exhibited. A place that frenzied with originality and where trends come to die, the contagious atmospheric energy birthed something entirely new and needed…a breath of fresh air originality. I leisurely strolled through the Sands Expo mesmerized by a plethora of designers (over 250 brands to be exact) from all around the world with influences of west coast surf/skate, new millennium urban/modern to contemporary classic, all with their personal distinct mark, sourcing endless inspiration in their own way. The experience completed dispelled my misconception of what I thought a stereotypical trade show was; Stepford wive like monotoned cubical boxed areas, what I actually saw was beautifully curated spaces crafted to enhance the magic of the displayed menswear collections, which included men’s grooming products and home interior.
Amongst the brands present were Project Cobalt’s community of designers that included; 424, Second Layer, Blackfist, Matthew Miller, Pyer Moss, Rhude, Homme Boy, Knickerbocker MFG, Publish, ICNY, SUPER, Moment Homme, Staple Design, HLZ BLZ, Diadora.
