Could This Be The Reason For Your Dark Under Eye Circles?

Ismail oubarka | 11:11 AM
While shopping not too long ago, I happened to catch a glimpse of myself in a brightly lit mirror only to discover that my worst nightmare had occurred.  Starring back at me were tired looking eyes with visibly dark under eye circles.  At first, I didn't know what to think. Should I chalk it up to age?  Is this something that automatically happens once a person enters their 40's?

Eventually, I was at peace with knowing that I could never leave the house again without undereye concealer.  But then I wondered if there was something else at play.  Could there have been another reason why suddenly my under eyes looked the way they did?
Several weeks later,  I'm surfin' online and come across a testimony of someone who may have the solution to my problem.

Basically, she proclaimed that once she started implementing the system of drinking a gallon of water a day, the dark circles that she's had her entire life disappeared. She wasn't the only one to share this benefit.  Another gallon a day drinker cosigned by saying that her water drinking habit contributed to fewer under eye wrinkles and diminished dark circles.

After reading the second testimony, I  had to do some research.  Because I didn't quite understand the link between hydration and under eye circles.

Apparently, our under eye area is heavily influenced by our lifestyle.  If we don't get enough sleep, our eyes get red and puffy. This is probably why we think that dark circles are also directly related to lack of sleep.  Most of us don't realize how important our water intake is for the eyes.  If you do a search for dark under eyes and dehydration, you'll be surprised at how much information exists linking the two.

This is probably my 1000th post on the benefits of drinking water. Even though I'm always talking about drinking water, I still have times when I struggle.  Any time I slack on water intake, it's because of one reason and one reason only---I've switched up my water bottle.  It never fails, if I'm suddenly drinking from smaller bottles, I'll drink a lot less water throughout the day.  Lately, I've been out and about more which also affects how much water I drink.

I'm pretty certain that my newly tired looking eyes are a direct result of chronically neglecting my water intake.  Most undereye creams are ultra rich and hydrating.  They aim to hydrate the undereye area from the outside in.  But maybe we should try to address the issue from the inside out.

Yes, age and genetics are also a factor but before you assume that your dark circles were passed down from your great grandma, maybe try increasing on your internal hydration.  Even if your dark circles stay put, you'll likely experience:

Basically, if you go too long with drinking just enough water to get by, you could be missing out on all the amazing benefits above.  We all get off track from time to time....and that's ok! Sometimes we need a gentle reminder.  My reminder came in the form of the wonderful testimony of ladies who swear by their water intake to look and feel amazing.

Maybe this post can serve as your reminder.
